Model reference · open weights
internlm2-1 is an open-weight language model from internlm. AxForge deploys and operates it for you on dedicated EU-owned hardware — with the licence handled where one is required.
Available as managed deployment — configured and operated for you on dedicated EU hardware, quoted per deployment.

InternLM2-1.8B is the 1.8 billion parameter version of the second generation InternLM series. In order to facilitate user use and research, InternLM2-1.8B has three versions of open-source models. They are:
The InternLM2 has the following technical features:
We have evaluated InternLM2 on several important benchmarks using the open-source evaluation tool OpenCompass. Some of the evaluation results are shown in the table below. You are welcome to visit the OpenCompass Leaderboard for more evaluation results.

Limitations: Although we have made efforts to ensure the safety of the model during the training process and to encourage the model to generate text that complies with ethical and legal requirements, the model may still produce unexpected outputs due to its size and probabilistic generation paradigm. For example, the generated responses may contain biases, discrimination, or other harmful content. Please do not propagate such content. We are not responsible for any consequences resulting from the dissemination of harmful information.
To load the InternLM2-1.8B model using Transformers, use the following code:
import torch
from transformers import AutoTokenizer, AutoModelForCausalLM
tokenizer = AutoTokenizer.from_pretrained("internlm/internlm2-1_8b", trust_remote_code=True)
# Set `torch_dtype=torch.float16` to load model in float16, otherwise it will be loaded as float32 and might cause OOM Error.
model = AutoModelForCausalLM.from_pretrained("internlm/internlm2-1_8b", torch_dtype=torch.float16, trust_remote_code=True).cuda()
model = model.eval()
inputs = tokenizer(["A beautiful flower"], return_tensors="pt")
for k,v in inputs.items():
inputs[k] = v.cuda()
gen_kwargs = {"max_length": 128, "top_p": 0.8, "temperature": 0.8, "do_sample": True, "repetition_penalty": 1.0}
output = model.generate(**inputs, **gen_kwargs)
output = tokenizer.decode(output[0].tolist(), skip_special_tokens=True)
print(output)
# A beautiful flowering plant, this is a native of the tropical rainforest in the Andes Mountains of South America.
# The plant is also known as the monkey flower, the monkey flower, and the wild orchid.
# The flower is native to the Amazon Basin, where it is found in the forests of the Andes Mountains in the western part of the Amazon River Basin.
# It is also found in the Andes and the Amazonian forests of the Amazonian region.
# It grows at elevations between 5,000 and 8,000 feet.
# The flowers of the monkey flower are yellow and pink, with a distinctive shape.

Using it via the API
Once AxForge deploys internlm2-1 for you, it answers on the OpenAI-compatible API — the same base URL and keys as every other model. (internlm2-1 below is illustrative; you get the exact model name on deployment.)
$ curl -sS https://api.axforge.ai/v1/chat/completions \
-H "Authorization: Bearer $AXFORGE_API_KEY" \
-H "Content-Type: application/json" \
-d '{"model":"internlm2-1","messages":[{"role":"user","content":"Hello"}]}'
Create an account — your API key is available in the console. 5M tokens/month currently included with every new account at launch.
